I am planning a SPR build and have been looking a the Vltor VIS and was looking for feed back from those of you that have used them for a build, what say you good, bad, over priced for what you get?

Thanks,

Stacey

I love mine. What attracted me to it was the un-interrupted rail on the top. Had I not used the VIS, my front scope ring base would have fallen right on the collar between the upper and rail, forcing me to buy the LaRue SPR QD mount. Which is a kick ass product, by the way, but it would have been another $200.00 expense.

Think your whole package through. Don't save 50 bucks or so now, only to have to spend more later. I work part-time at a gun shop, so I get stuff at cost. The extra few bucks the VIS costs over the combined cost of an upper and forearm was worth it to me. Besides, I like the way they look.

Boy that's a great photo.

It's probably the best option as you aren't stressing out the barrel nut portion of the upper receiver as in a standard FF rails.  The only downside IMO is that it's slightly heavier.

It would look even better with a 18" stainless barrel attached to it, maybe a Stickman logo would be in order
