Anybody ever experience scratches on the side of your AR's receiver from the VTAC sling?

No. Mine works great and does not have any problems. What is it from, the adjustment buckle?

Yes, the metal buckle scrapes the left side of my receivers and takes the finish off.

Yes, my VTAC sling does this but I don't mind it at all.  As far as I'm concerned it normal wear from actually using your gun.  Other than cosmetic scratches it won't hurt your gun at all.

BTW, my Vickers sling does this too but so what...

Yeah, mine does that a little bit.

Hmmmm

Question, when you pull on the adj strap are you pulling it toward you or pulling it away from you?

As I run two of these slings on my rifles I dont see how the buckle would even come near the rifle. As it is supposed to be about4-6 inches under your weak side arm pit.

I adjust it by pulling it away from me, down towards the ground.  To release it and get slack, I pull up on the cord and the weight of the rifle loosens the sling.

Well I have found that the inital adjustment it really important. As is if you run your rifle with or without gear on, as this changes the position of the adjustment buckle. When properly set up the sling should tighten up with one full extension from your elbow to straighting out your arm. With the buckle set up under your arm pit your just pulling straight down to bring the rifle into your body. Like I said in the beginning, the inital set up is the real key to making this sling shine like the awesome piece of kit it is!

I am really impressed with the sling.  But, I think it's scratching the receiver while I'm not wearing the weapon. E.g. in the case while jostled around during transit.

Maybe a piece of 100MPH tape on the bottom of the metal hardware would help?
