What's the best way to install a rifle length tube on a carbine barrel with standard front sight base and permanently attached flash hider?
I will chop down the FSB, am I going to have to remove the barrel and put it on from the back? Thanks guys. |
| I dunno if you will be able to without removing the flash hider. Yes you can cut the FSB without removing it but I dunno if you can cut it enough to get the barrel nut over it. May be worth it to just get a samson or rainier rail since it uses the factory barrel nut. |

Having installed VTAC's before, you'll definitely need to have the gas block removed in order to slide in their special barrel nut. And in order to remove the gas block, you'll need to remove your flash hider. You'll have to go with a rail that installs over a standard barrel nut like others have said (and I believe Samson makes Rainier's rails), or hack off your current flash hider and have someone like ADCO re-perm it, or have ADCO take it off for you and rebuild your upper with the VTAC.
