The MS3 is a great sling but depending on what you do the majority of the time, you may want to choose according to "mission".
The MS3 is a shit two point. It is a great single point that has an option to go to a two point but functionally, it is inferior in comfort, adjustability and ride when compared to the VTAC. If you are going to be running a two point 90% of the time then choose the vtac. If you are going to be running a single point 90% of the time then choose the ms3. Pretty simple choice. |

Shit 2 point sling I think not, cause all I need 2 point for is to carry my gun on my back. YMMV. |

Vtac padded sling with 2-1 triglide. Pros: everything Cons: nothing Picture please. As of now I like my MS# cause I like the way it clips to your gun and I run a single point for home defense so it's easier to transition shoulders. http://www.impactweaponscomponents.com/product/2-to-1-point-triglide-threads-into-your-sling-and-makes-it-convertible/ have these on both my VTAC and LaRue slings. |

Which do you prefer and what are the pros and cons? If your not completely convinced with either the MS3 or VTAC, I would consider the VCAS from Blue Force Gear as well. It's a great 2-point, and can be customized for just about any set-up your looking for. |

i liked the vcas padding and color i liked the ms3 hardware so i combined them best of both worlds Pyro0 do you have any pictures of this setup ^^^ I like the idea of the ms3 clips gives you more options to use the sling for other non-sling related purposes. |

What's the point in having a QD mount on the rifle and the fastex buckle? Is it that much easier to release the Fastex if you're hung up on something? Can QD fasteners get jammed or lodged in their sockets? Forgive me if this is a newbie question. I'm trying to get my VTAC mounted correctly and want to know as many of the pros and cons as I can before buying more hardware. |

i never got around to cutting the excess webbing how would i even do that, put a scissor over a fire and cut? I've always cut it and then melted the cut edge with a lighter. thanks i do the same with 550 cord, dont know why i didnt think of that

In a "panic" situation the Fastex Buckel is absolutely a better quick release device. Easier to find, manipulate, and release. Even under extreme tension a squeeze of the buckle will immediately disengage the connection. |
| Wrap a couple layers of tape around the spot where you want to cut. I use masking tape most of the time. Cut the webbing where it is taped so half of the tape is on the sling side and the other half on the trash side. Melt the edge with a lighter. Let it cool a bit then remove the remaining tape. The tape helps make a nice clean edge. There is also an attachment for soldering guns for cutting rope and webbing. These work really well but taping is almost as good. |

I honestly did not love my VCAS sling. The padding was great, but transitioning to my offhand was too complicated compared to other slings I've run.
If you are into the MS3 style sling, I highly recommend the Irene Adaptive Sling found here. http://missionspec.com/products/ias-irene-adaptive-sling/ It's everything great about the MS3 sling and then some more. I mostly like the fact that you can transition to 2 point without ever having the sling in a position where it is not attached to the body. |
