Cannelure or not, which is best

In a AR platform the cannelure can be useful, but in a non semi-auto I prefer bullets without a cannelure.

Cannelure not needed for AR15 rounds.  Neck tension will hold the bullet sufficiently.  Well, let me put it this way: I've never experienced an issue with bullets not having a cannelure.

Use a Lee crimp die then no issue on semi-auto.

Dosen't really matter if the bullet has the cannelure or not. As stated before, neck tension should hold the bullet in place. Or, you could go with a Lee crimp die and it wouldn't matter because the crimp would hold it in place.
