What barrell lenght produces the best velocity results for the 9mm round in a rifle configuration. Two people told me that the powder burns up earily on, and the round is slower comming out of a 16in., and when I posted that I was considering having my HK94 cut down to 10 1/2in. to gain better velocity other guys told me that I was listening to the wrong people, and 16in. was faster. Dose anyone have any good info on this subject.

                         Thanks,

I took and chrono'd a handload a few yr ago from a 10.25" 6 groove barrel and a 16" 4 groove barrel. It was a 124gr load, 8gr AA-#7, the avg was within a few feet of the other from both barrels. AA-#7 is a slow powder for 9mm NATO/carbine loads......Keep in mind, common pistol rounds are made for 4-5" handgun.  But as they say............ "YMMV".
