I just traded another member for a vice block, and upon test fitting it on an A2 and A3 receiver, I noticed the bottom of the block allows a little bit of wiggle, is this normal? When I use it, should I put a little shim stock on either side of the takedown pin hole? Don't wanna ruin an upper if it can be avoided.
Also, should I leave the BCG in the upper to prevent crush damage? Or just be careful? Thanks, Chuck |

A vice block should come with a plastic insert the same size as a bolt/carrier. This will allow you to tighten the vice block enough to prevent movement without crushing the receiver. In absence of said plastic piece, can the BCG be substituted? Got the block second hand, knowing that the insert was not with it. |
