So I am pretty set on a vickers vcas sling but am not sure if I want it padded or not. I am leaning towards not padded, but wanted to hear what you thought! This is for a standard 16" carbine, it was not designed to be a super light build, but it is not at all heavy. It has a gov profile barrel, larue 11" hand guard, magpul ubr stock, eotech sight, troy BUIS and a very light flashlight. I may add a bipod, but the parts I listed are all that I can think of that contribute to the weight.

Quoted: What are ou going to do with it? Are you going to carry it for extended periods? If so, get the padded. If not, then get the regular one. I do not anticipate carrying it for "extended periods". The difference is only $5 or so. Are there any const to the padded or just personal preference? |

Quoted: I have a padded one and wish I would have gotten the non-padded version. ![]() Yeah, that is what I think is going to happen to me. I like the simpler, more adjustable (I think) non padded. I just want to make sure that the padded one is not SOOOO much more comfortable. |

I was stuck on this same decision but decided my shoulder can take it, so I got the non-padded.
I think its plenty comfortable, and looks a bit cleaner, but thats just me. http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/7752/cimg1706.jpg |

I've been looking at them too. I've been using a non-padded Vtac and unless it were about 8 pounds heavier I couldn't really see a need for padding. |
