Happen to see one of these rifles, VK-1, and one of their uppers for sale in a local gun store while I was submitting some form 4s. I had never heard of them before, and it piqued my interest. I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience/feedback with them vktr |

I've just been curious to try a piston AR, and had been looking at the more traditional piston ARs like PWS, LWRC, etc, when I came across this one. I most certainly don't see them as a replacement for something like a Geissele or DD, just something different. Be interesting to hear if anyone had first hand experience with them, since most every video I found is pretty much just a product ad for them. Also that msrp is for sure up there, but you can find some on gunbroker for a bit over 1600. Like here |
 Paul Leitner-Wise's Story is WILD TL;DR is that Paul Leitner Wise partnered with some people to use a similar (if not the same) piston system used in LWRC rifles. Apparently Paul Leitner Wise and VKTR parted ways and the piston patent use by VKTR is no longer permitted. I'm sure they're fine, but why not just get an HK MR556 upper for a similar price. The HK has real product and aftermarket support, a high quality barrel (though not chrome lined, HK will replace for free if you shoot it out), and it is almost the same price if you find one on sale. So basically its an LWRC system but made by another company and with a nicer looking MLOK handguard. |
