Owners how's the durability, lock up, and ergonomics?

My favorite stock...most durable collapsible stock out there IMO. Excellent cheek weld. Fit depends on receiver extension tube, but all of mine are very tight.

I like my EMODs, it's a big improvement over the Modstock (which I own also).

Better lock-up than the Modstock and the ~ 1/2" in increased length improves ergonomics (for me anyhow).  It allows me to shoot comfortably while the stock is in the fully closed position.

The EMOD and SOPMOD are my favorites.  The SOPMOD has a much tighter lock up and more solid feel to it, but the EMOD is a better value.

Just my 2 cents...

Great stocks, I have two and love them. As for durability, aren't these the only collapsibles to pass, I wanna say the USMC drop test or something? I wanna say that's it... or am I smoking crack today?

My EMOD is my favorite stock with storage compartments, I've been using mine two years (next month), my other favorite stock without storage is the CTR.

In my opinion it is the most durable stock in the market now, they have reinforced area around the latch pin, I had smacked it buttpad first against the ground for clearing the chamber exercises many times and no visible damage at all.

I would say the lockup is better than my old mil-spec M4 carbine stock but not as solid as my CTR stock, the fit is snug with a very slight movement on my Vltor buffer tube but no movement what so ever in the shooting position and while shooting.

Of all the stocks that I own the EMOD with its angled toe and the shape of the rubber buttpad, it is the most comfortable I had ever used, specially when going back and fourth from a low ready to the on-target position.

Other collapsible stocks that I own currently are Vltor standard carbine Modstock, Vltor clubfoot, Magpul CTR/ MOE, ACE SOCOM and LMT M4.

I have one on my M4 here, I like it alot. I can shoot with it completely closed with my IOTV. I like the angle of the buttpad and the rubber piece on it. It helps balance out the M$ with the PEQ-15 and surefire on it. It is very tight also...zero play.

I think it was LWRC that did the carbine stock drop test.

The EMod is easily the most feature rich stock around.  Reinforced release latch hole, strike plate, multiple storage compartments, angled butt pad and toe.  I only wish Vltor would make a carbine version, without the clubfoot

Another question, what's the strike plate for? Is it for gun butting things? Kinda on the same level a bayonet, or does it have a more practical function?

I'd consider a strike plate to be more practical than a bayonet, especially for LEOs who use their ARs on duty.

Neither are practical for those who only shoot off the bench.  YMMV.

So do you brake doors with it, or what?

Doors might be a stretch, but windows and faces are fine.

Love my EMod, only complaint is that the door is on the same side as my sling attach, but that would be a plus for lefties!

Just wanted to say I received my E Mod for my new build and tested it out on my existing AR.  I'm SOLD on  this stock.

Mine replaced a CTR on a middy. The added weight balances out the gun better. It is more comfortable too. I had a modstock before, but this is far and away a better stock. It must be. It goes to work with me.

Damn, that sucks.  Hopefully they'll make that right because that is really, REALLY shitty.  I just ordered a commercial version (if I don't like the EMod, CTR will be it) from Brownells because of your post.  They even had a coupon code for free shipping on an order over $150 so I just tossed on some Magpuls for 9mm and some gen3 followers.

Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the coupon. Guess my decision between an A1 or an EMOD has been made. One black Emod on the way.

I ordered one from Greg at Rainier Arms for my LMT. Can't wait to get it. It will go nice with my VLTOR CASV-EL.

Got mine in today! It is one of the most ergonomic stocks I've ever used, definitely worth the cash. Also Vltors foliage green is near perfect match to Cavalry Arms's.

The lock up is tight, seems durable,  balances out a government profile midlength barrel with A2 hand guards perfectly; I couldn't be happier.
