[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Vltor MUR question

Alright, been eyeing up the Vltor MUR receivers, specifically the version with the forward assist assembly

A few questions though...

I know the FA is dovetailed into the upper and a roll pin keeps it in place, and the roll pin looks like it could move into receiver, binding up the bolt. Is the shell deflector only version assembled the same way? Is this even something that I should worry about?

The current version has the cutouts near the barrel nut threads, correct? So I can use pretty much any rail?

Think so. No.

MUR-1A has cut outs but Noveske MUR does not. Yes.

Not sure about the roll pin binding up the receiver. Never heard of this problem from anyone.

I just mounted a Samson Evolution rail to mine and had no problem because the dimensions near the barrel nut are the same as a standard forged.
