I purchased a Voodoo Innovations Manimal flash hider to use on a pinned to 16" build.  The included crush washer does not crush.  Anyone else have this problem?  I've emailed Voodoo with no response yet.  Using a standard crush washer defeats the purpose as the OD would be too large to slip the gas block over.

I got the "willnot crush washer" too.
I had enough length to time the flash hider without it, shitcanned it, and moved on with the welding.

I did notice that I could tighten all the way down without it, and the barrel I'm using is the 14.75" from the AR15.com store so I could probably do without it as well.  What did you use to time it?  Shims?

I ground down my "crush" washer till it timed correctly.  It did not seem willing to crush at all in my experience.

I just received the following email from Voodoo:

"Thank you for contacting Voodoo Innovations. The Manimal Washer is not a true "crush" washer. As im sure you have now found out. It may require the removal of some of the material. You can use a belt sander or large flat file to remove a small amount of material from one side of the washer. This will allow you to align your flash hider appropriately."

Dont bother with a belt sander.

Get a square of wet sand paper for metals at home depot in the paint isle.
Place paper on garage floor.
Sand.

Go slow.... the washers go fast and check timing often.

And that's pretty much exactly what I did (minus the garage floor).  I just wanted to be sure they didn't have a bad batch or something.
