I purchased a Voodoo Innovations Manimal flash hider to use on a pinned to 16" build. The included crush washer does not crush. Anyone else have this problem? I've emailed Voodoo with no response yet. Using a standard crush washer defeats the purpose as the OD would be too large to slip the gas block over.

I did notice that I could tighten all the way down without it, and the barrel I'm using is the 14.75" from the AR15.com store so I could probably do without it as well. What did you use to time it? Shims? Lathe, my uncle cut the should a few thousands at a time till it fit perfect |

I just received the following email from Voodoo:
"Thank you for contacting Voodoo Innovations. The Manimal Washer is not a true "crush" washer. As im sure you have now found out. It may require the removal of some of the material. You can use a belt sander or large flat file to remove a small amount of material from one side of the washer. This will allow you to align your flash hider appropriately." |
