Quoted: Not going to lie, at the price point I always just assumed that if I decided I wanted a holo, I'd pay a little more and get an exps 2 or 3. Well, the longer im surfing these forums the less excited I am to get an eotech and this thread has got me thinking I should try the vortex. I just read this whole thread and I learned a ton, i never noticed that they were American made. I guess my home defense holosun is gonna get an upgrade. View Quote What? You mean you don’t want a broken XPS right out of the box and get ignored by eotech for going on three weeks? Noooooooo, I don’t believe you! Lol |

Hey guys, I got the Gen 2 a few days ago and did a quick video for you all since I see people are talking about it. I like it a lot, might be buying a second one to run on both my builds. Here's my unboxing/early impressions:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCtcoEo4FaU&feature=youtu.be Let me know if you have any questions or anything you want to clarify. Note that I didn't own the first gen so I can't comment on difference between the two. |

Eh...when they make it 1/2 its current huge size I'll be interested.

Just received mine. I have astigmatism and the dot and circle are sharper than eotech imo. Very clear picture. Can't wait to take it out.

View Quote With illumination at a proper level and focusing on the target down range, it should crisp up considerably. There may be ever so slightly some pixelation to the reticle, but that's just nature of a holographic sight and you have to try and pay attention to it to really even see it. Hope this helps |

Any other people with astigmatism have experience with this sights or eotechs? I’m running a LPVO right now and it’s getting heavy. I’m still on the fence on getting one of this.

View Quote I've been running a Gen 1 UH-1 off and on for a few different guns, and haven't had any issues due to my astigmatism. You'll want to try to look at one in person though, astigmatisms differ from person to person. |

Anyone have an idea when these will start showing up at expericity?

SportOptics has 5 in stock with Summer12 coupon...you get 12% off $499 and free shipping.
Ordered mine at 1:15PM CST and shipping at 3 PM CST. Just FYI if someone wants one...with a coupon. |

Quoted: Probably best to contact Vortex directly. That said, the typical discount seems to put it not much lower than most websites are charging at the moment, so there would need to be a significant price drop for it to be worth the wait. ExpertVoice seems to tack on a lot of hidden charges so I expect you’d be better off with somewhere that isn’t going to charge sales tax and has free or cheap shipping. Well...my UH-1 Gen 2 came in and its going back...
Not sure how QA inspector "JL" didn't catch this...but...I have a pinhole "crater" in the inside of the rear glass...(yes I made sure it wasn't lint and used my Zeiss cleaning kit). Needless to say...it is heading back to the outlet I bought it from...disappointing...this now makes the 3rd Vortex optic in the row that I have had some quality issues out of the box. Sorry Vortex...I know you guys are solid dudes but how does stuff like this get passed through a "trained" eye vs my untrained eye... On a bright side...there is no clipping of the reticle anymore like my UH1 Gen 1 did...so that is a huge plus... |

This crap warms my heart. I was right in canceling my MRO order for the gen 2 UH-1. Incidentally it arrived today and looks fantastic.
Good on you vortex. |

To what depth is this designed to be water-resistant? I see IPX8 mentioned, so 1-3 meters?

It is not the depth, it is the pressure.
So a simple fall into a modest puddle can have plenty of water pressure in the moment. Not that the WI has any streams to cross, that's a MN thing.. |

Does anyone have this and a EXP2/3 to compare?
Looking for an optic for my 12.5 SBR build and I keep going back and forth. This would be for my hard use/shtf build. |

I have both and they’re excellent optics for a short(er) rifle. I’ve used the EXPS3-0 for over 4 years and it’s proven to be exceptionally durable but I slightly favor the Vortex for the reticle. |
