| When I close the bolt or fire the rifle, I hear a ringing sound from the prongs of the vortex flash hider. Will this hurt accuracy? Thanks. |

Vortex actually claims that its FH increases accuracy due to how the gasses exit the FH, or some sh!t like that. The ringing noise has no effect on accuracy. From the Smith Enterprise website:

A friend and I both had crowned barreled Kriegers. We were both happy with the groups they were shooting to say the least. After the ban ended we got them threaded and added Vortex's. We noticed a more than slight decreases in our group sizes. It wasnt anything dramatic, but it was noticable. We're believers. PS, we get the tuning fork sound too! Its normal. |

the vortex is a tuning fork, just not made for tuning a piano. it's got tines and they vibrate- just like a tuning fork. I think vortex makes the claim that it increases accuracy because it offers gases behind the bullet to escape quickly, easily and evenly around the rear of the bullet as opposed to unevenly like a newer phantom or A2. |
