Vortex actually claims that its FH increases accuracy due to how the gasses exit the FH, or some sh!t like that. The ringing noise has no effect on accuracy. From the Smith Enterprise website:

the vortex is a tuning fork, just not made for tuning a piano. it's got tines and they vibrate- just like a tuning fork. I think vortex makes the claim that it increases accuracy because it offers gases behind the bullet to escape quickly, easily and evenly around the rear of the bullet as opposed to unevenly like a newer phantom or A2. |
