I got a Smith Vortex for an LMT barrel I just received (brand new, I haven't shot it yet but I did clean it).  I removed the A2 flash hider from the barrel no problem, and when I did I noticed the first half of the threads closest to the muzzle had oil or grease on them.  The directions that came with the Vortex say torque it to no more than 10 ft/lbs and say nothing about lubing the threads.  I installed the Vortex without adding any more lube to it.

Following Quib's sage advice, I referred to my copy of the -23 and reviewed section 3.10, subsection d regarding the re installation of the A2 flash hider.  There is no mention of lubrication on the threads.

Would there be any benefit to adding choke tube anti-seize or other lubrication when installing a Smith Vortex?  Would lubrication aid or inhibit the self tightening action of the Vortex?

No idea on the anti seize but both of my carbines have the Vortex and were installed with a little CLP and have been on for thousands of rounds. Recently I removed one to install a brake for a tactical rifle competition and it came off no problems.
