I have had this scope for 2 years or so now. I took it to the range a couple of times and hunted with it once but decided to put it up because of the white haze issue I was having and replace it with a Leupold I literally could not see hogs at 100 -125 yards in the high magnification range I had to back down to 6-8 power to see well enough make a shot. I have done a good bit of reading and it seems that the 4-16x50 PST are prone to the haze or cloudiness which is really bad with mine. I have spoke with vortex about this issue and will be sending it back soon but first want to gather as much info as I can. I know several people have posted in the past about this issue on various forums but has anyone recently had this problem? Out in the field on a normally clear day it looks like your looking though a very thick fog or smoke cloud down range it gets worse the higher you go in the magnification even if I am in the shade looking down range that is unshaded. The scope is very clear and crisp indoors at all ranges. Vortex has told me when I called them that customers had complained about this in the past but did not really say if there was a fix for this. Has anyone had this issue and then was it corrected by Vortex? This is the only scope I have ever had to do this. Thanks for any input. |
