I am looking at a Vortex SPARC II for three gun type competitions and 200 yards and less shooting.

I'd take a look at Primary Arms new advance micro before I went with another SPARC. I had the original SPARC and it left a lot to be desired. For $170 you get a 5 year battery life (continuously on) and better glass (IMO, compared to the first SPARC)
