Decided to jump on a deal and upgrade my optics from Vortex Crossfire II 1-4 with the v-brite to a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6.
Can't believe the deal I found on this Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 brand new $274.39 with free shipping. Gonna get to me next week can't wait to get hands and eyes on it, everything I read it's a great optic. Hope it lives up to expectations and looking forward to the AR reticle on the Strike Eagle |

Wow thought my deal was good but there's always a better one out there....lol
I've been frustrated that my crossfire isn't a true 1x other reason for upgrade. Really glad to hear strike eagle is actually a 1x not just advertised as one and not. I have a good burris mount right now but might look at that mount posted for another project. |

WoW! Received my new glass today and all I can say is WoW! What a difference between the Crossfire II and the Strike Eagle. Gonna view them side by side when I mount it up. |

I have a delima. I am looking at getting the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 mounted on a MI QD mount, On top of a 6920.
My question is will the front sight post be an issue? Or will the 1× setting Co witness while 2× and up focus past the post? Or will I need to remove the post? |

I'm using the Vortex CM-202 mount which gives lower 1/3 cowitness. On 1X you can see the front sight. When I use the 1X on the Strike Eagle the target looks further away when shooting 50 yards compared to when I shoot with a Red Dot Sight. The front sight is not a hinderence but even with exact/absolute cowitness I'm not sure how good of groups you could get by just using the front sight post for sighting. If the sight post tip sets at the top of the SE reticle you should be able to get hits. Whether the reticle will be obscured by the front sight tower/post with absolute cowitness I can't say. Since the reticle is etched and always visible I'm not sure if the front sight will decrease the visbility of the SE reticle. I'm not sure if the eye box will restrict where the reticle appears in relation to the fixed front sight.
When I had my SE on my Tavor I don't remember raising my front BUIS which would have been absolute cowitness. |

Interesting observation, given that the Strike Eagle uses Crossfire II glass and coatings. However I did put them side by side last night and the Strike was crisper and could see more detail than the Crossfire, even tried to change the focus but didn't help. I couldn't tell that one was that much brighter than the other just that the Strike Eagle was a sharper image and seemed more clear no yellow tint like the Crossfire. Even thought about taking a picture but figured it wouldn't come out the same as I was seeing so didn't mess with it. |
