Don't know of any deals, but I do know you're getting a good optic. My buddy (and fellow ARFcommer) has one on his MSAR STG E4. I'm also replacing the Strikefire that I'm currently running with a 1-4 scope and the Vortex is towards the top of a very short list.

I think my buddy got his from opticsplanet.com, but I can't remember for certain.

As for mounts. Click here. Thank me later.

No problem, I hope it works out for you. I'm really excited for this optic. I had a defective 512 eotech, which I returned and was about to buy another eotech, then changed my mind to an aimpoint pro to a micro, then finally to this vortex.
I was kind put off by the busy reticle but the more I researched it, the more I liked it. Now if I can only find a 30mm extended bobro mount for it

Do yourself a HUGE favor and CALL......CameralandNY.....ON THE PHONE.  Not
their website.....the PHONE.  I have bought 3 of these Viper PST 1-4x from them
and they ALWAYS offer a much better price over the phone than they do on the web.

I got all 3 of mine for $425 each.....which is about $75 less than advertised.  My got
one as well, but they wouldn't come lower than $450.  Different guys offer different
deals.....I got lucky.  After getting the great deal on my first one, I called and bought
2 more.  Your results may vary.....but give them a call.

I am running Larue LT-104 mounts of 2 of mine while
the other is a Vortex "branded" American Defense offset
mount.  Both are excellent.  They are both QD and both
keep zero very well.

I prefer the capped as well:

I'll be picking up another 2 of them very shortly as well. I'm a huge fan of this optic. I love the reticle.

In case you didn't know, Vortex has some problems with that scope:

I have more than one Vortex optic, including a Viper PST scope (not the 1-4x, but I'd love that one, too)

mounted in Larue mounts.

Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

You won't regret it.  It's a great glass for the money, I will likely be getting another.

Not to highjack this thread, but would you folks prefer the Viper PST over an ACOG TA 31?  I have the money to pick up a used ACOG, but am not sure if I would prefer one of these PSTs or not.  Your thoughts are appreciated.

If I was .mil going into battle is prefer an a cog. I've used them plenty and have no use for them in the civie world. I'd much rather have a fine cross hair for target shooting. I guess they could be fun for plinking but I prefer red dots for that. For what they cost I can't justify it. I would consider trading for one but I'd never buy one unless it was a stellar deal and I could recoup all my money when I was done toying with it.

The real question is would you buy a new Vortex PST 1-4x or a used Trijicon TR24?

I had my heart set on the Vortex but have seen several TR24s used for ~$150 more and now I'm conflicted...

I don't really care for the reticles on those either. Main reason I don't want an acog. I almost bought one but after shooting with the one with the reticle I thought I wanted I changed my mind. I guess it depends on what you want to do with the rifle. If your popping hogs on the fly I could see the potential but for fun days at the range I'd much rather have a precise fine cross hair. I don't shoot at living things and the run and gun I do do isn't at distances far enough to require magnification. Vortex also has excellent customer service and a sweet ass warranty (covers used optics sold to second parties). Trijicon has a lifetime warranty to the original owner. I sent my SRS back to them after having it in my possession for a week and it took me almost 8 weeks to get it back. That is unacceptable to me. Not so much that I would never buy another of their products but enough to make me think twice and look for comparable products from other companies.

I think the post counts of all the people who had this happen to them is worth noting....I've never heard of it happening before until that thread. Has anyone here had their reticle shift on their 1-4X PST?

I don't know what low post count has to do with it.

But yes, I have had this problem too.

I've never had an issue with my PST.

I DO wish I had purchased the capped turret version.

Just looked up the specs on the vortex 1-4 PST capped moa version and it weighs 14.4 ounces and the tall uncapped version weighs 16.2 ounces.  Is the only difference between the two models just the turret height?

Yes. The only difference between the two is capped turrets vs uncapped turrets.

I just ordered the last capped turret PST 1-4x from Primary Arms a few minutes ago.

what is the differences in the reticle anyway?

I too think a lot of scopes have gotten too busy.   ACOG chevron system is about as complicated as you want in anything short of a true sniper rifle.

Yeah cause why would anyone other than a sniper want to be precise with what they are shooting at.
