| Anyone here have any experience with the Vortex "Crossfire" line of scopes? Thanks |

I have one of the 6-24x50 that SWFA has had on sale for $99 for the last 18 months or so. Tracks well. Best glass I've ever seen on a budget scope. It lived on my .204 AR for awhile, now it resides on a .204 single shot for a super low cost varmint rig (under $400 including scope and rings).
The glass is good enough that I could pick out .204 holes @ 200 yds in decent light. |

I bought one (4-16X56? illuminated 30mm tube) and mounted it on my .50 BMG. In less than one box the windage turret had broken free from the tube and would freely spin. (you could unscrew it from the tube) I sent the scope back and Vortex fixed it and sent it back. I mounted it on a 5.56 rifle and every shot it would change one click in elevation. Its possible this was due to damage from having it mounted on the .50. I sent it back a second time and told them I wanted to try a different model. After a year or so I finally got my Viper PST 2.5-10. (I had to pay the difference in price for the two.) I've thought about buying one of the 99 dollar ones from SWFA and using it on a .22 or .17 as the glass was pretty decent for the money. I haven't done it yet though. ETA: I chose to wait for the PST to come out, if I had wanted a different scope they would have taken care of it immediately.
