I have a very nice long distance 6.5 Grendel build and am looking for nice optics to compliment long distance shooting(800-1000yrds). I know of the popular brands like Nightforce, Leupold Mark etc.
I've heard such good things about Vortex, even people saying that they are the best bargain of the optical world. Wondering if the Viper PST 6-24x50 Riflescope would get the job done? $750 is very affordable.

Any input and advice is very welcome! Thank you.

I had a Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10 on my coyote rifle. It was a decent scope for the money and held up well to Alaskan winters.

Image Quality on Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44

I think they are an awesome addition to a 6.5 Grendel.  I've been using them on mine for years now.  I'm an optics snob who wouldn't take anything under $2000 until I came across Vortex.

Let me know if I can help you with anything Grendel related.  I'm pretty deep into the cartridge, and have done a lot of work with it over the years.

I had a PST 1-4 and it was great, but had to sell it sadly.

IMO the model you want will get the job done at the distance you want.

The Razor line is up there in quality and are every bit as good as other scopes costing more.

The PST line has great features for the price point and the quality is pretty good but they are not comparable to Nightforce or others in that price point. I'm not saying they are bad scopes but you are not getting the same quality for half the price of others.

IMO the Japan made scopes are still the best quality per dollar on the market.

I have that optic on my Grendel that I built a few years back. It is a good piece of glass for the money.

That's very helpful thanks, which Japan made scopes? I'm new to the scene so details definitely help. Thanks

Most of Nightforce (some are US made), Vortex Razor, SWFA SS, Bushnell tactical, Weaver tactical, and there's probably some I'm forgetting.

Have you looked through the actual scopes that you're interested in buying?
I ask because I've noticed that , to my aging eyes, some reticles ( Vortex ) are clearer than others. You need to really look through a scope before you buy.
I looked through a Vortex 6-24 PST tonight at SWFA; good glass, very positive turret adjustments. It's not much larger than the lower powered variables, either.

coincidentally, I've been thinking about a Grendel again, and I think the 6-24 vortex would be a great scope for the 6.5 G.

I just heard about Trijicon Accupoint using Japan made parts, and assembled here in the U.S.
