if you had to choose between a dynacomp or the smith vortex which would it be? Does the dynacomp have a closed bottom or are the vents on the bottom too? I've used the vortex before and like it but don't know anything about the dynacomp. How loud is it?

if you want to hide flash... vortex.

if you want a comp... dynacomp.

Im not hiding my position from anyone so I use a comp.

I get what you're saying. My only thing is i may use it for night time hunting and don't want too much flash but i also want to be back on target quickly.

dynacomp is closed at the bottom. holes run from about 7 o'clock to 5 o'clock. so about a 1/4" is solid @ 6 o'clock.

The vortex all day night long.
If you are doing night shooting go with the vortex.
