I'm looking for an inexpensive scope that works good on the AR platform. The Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x24mm Riflescope w/ V-Brite Reticle looks promising, does anyone have any experience with it? Intended use is target/critter shooting out to 150 yards or so. If you don't like it, what would you recommend in the same price range?
Thanks, Ken |

I have one and would recommend it...
I waited awhile to find the right optic for my middy and didn't want to invest in another Accupoint (my preferred 1-4). The Crossfire II has good, not great, glass. But for the money, you'd be hard pressed to find a better option... Especially when you consider its features and Vortex' superb warranty program. The turrets are solid, scope has good eye relief and the illuminated ret is adjustable and is easy to pick up. I have mine in a AMD mount. A few of my rifles have Vortex optics and they all perform. You'll have no problem getting out to 150 yards with it. Got mine a few months ago for $190 (online retailer mixed up the pricing) but it's still a pretty good deal at $250. Good luck. |

Not to hijack, I have this scope and it works great. Do they make a cattail or throw lever for the magnification ring? Thx Vortex doesn't show one as an accessory yet which is where I bought mine for my PST. I tried to find the dimensions of the mag. ring to see if other rings might work but couldn't find the measurements... |
