I'm looking at ways to mount my contourhd camera on a couple of different guns.

I have a picatinny mount for it...and would like to find an offset rail I can attach to the scope rail on a flat top or other rifle.

I'd like the offset rail/mounting surface for the camera  to be parallel with the side of the receiver (perpendicular to the flat top).

It can either come straight away from the rifle, or be one of the 45 deg ish mounts I've seen.

the mount should be able to clear the underside of a mounted scope tube.

anyone know of a mount/rail that fits this description?   (I know the vnc scope-mounted offsets might work...but I'm not sure I want to mount to scope).

I cant think of anything but it sounds pretty simple to fabricate with simple tools.

Thinking out of the box, why don't you mount it upside down on the bottom of a quad rail then flip the image in the settings?

It would be more out of the way and in line with the shooting.

that is a thought... but here's the deal... if i make a mount that works on top rail, I can use it on all my non-m4 rifles that have a sight rail :)

short term, it will probably get mounted to a side rail

A buddy of mine just bought the same thing about 6 months ago.  For versatility sake, he is using the helmet mount so it will work with all of his guns.
