I got hosed.  Don't want any ARFCOMmers getting taken by the same vendor.  I purchased an used EOTECH "like new"  553, but got a non working 510.  My ignorance of not knowing how the Eotech series looked cost me.  Here is the link to the ad.  I'll post pictures of what I got.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=190215899812 I don't know how to activate the link.
This is what I got.

Look at the battery latch on his ad, and look at the pics I took.  He claims I'm trying to play switch a roo.  I've complained on PP and EBAY.  Trying to resolve the issue, but till then don't purchase from this guy.

I dont even think that is a real eotech, is it?  Looking at his ad it never calls it an eotech either just mentions eotech in the yellow print.   I would do what you can to get your money back

If you paid Paypal with a credit card, call the card company and dispute the charges.  That way PP gets left holding the bag until they get it from the seller; and they will!

That is a Bushnell HoloSight.

ETA:  He does have EoTech 553 in yellow in the ad.  Looks like he either did not know what he was selling or was trying to mis-lead the uninformed.

His feedback sucks too.

Right.  Looks like the Bushnell Holosight, or the hunter-friendly version without the roll cage.

I’ve never played with a Bushnell HoloSight. Is there that much of a difference in the batt compartment mounting between the EO and the Holo?

made link hot: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=190215899812

I see where the seller mentions the eo-tech, but where does it say it's a 551?  Maybe I just missed it.

Night vision compatible. Eotech 553.A65/1 is a top of the line Eotech scope and it is compatible with Gen I-III+ Night Vision Systems (tandem operation).  That is the first line in the yellow writing. He is also using the eotech lingo with his description. But everywhere else he keeps calling it the "HOLO" graphic sight, just like it says on the side of the thing. It doesn't look like the Bushnells that are out now, the writing is different, and the wording. The OP should have definitely enlarged those pictures, it would have been very easy to tell it wasn't any sort of Eotech by doing that.

I have a fair amount of experience with selling and buying off eBay.

When buying off eBay you have to read very detail and ask questions about what you doing understand or need to know about the product being sold.  It is also a good idea to do some research about what you are bidding on.  If it is not stated or pictured on the auction page then it not included.

When selling on eBay there is no requirement to how much detail you have to give about the product.  The picture of the product can even be a stock photo, but that has to be stated.  Now when the seller uses words such as “like new” it holds no grounds because “like new” has no real specific of what it is means as “New” mean never used.

Now eBay is very helpful if you have grounds that the seller has a false advertisement.  PayPal is very helpful also because eBay owns PayPal are they share the same policies.  EBay will look into the auction, but it can take awhile to get results back.

An example when the original Xbox came out there were auctions for “New Xbox” all the description had the specs for Xbox but in very small print in the auction it stated something like “this auction is for Xbox console package box”.  So people bid on the auction thinking they were getting an Xbox console paying like $500 to only receive a Xbox box.  Of course they were mad and contacted eBay, but eBay couldn’t help them because the auction only stated it contained Xbox console box.

So let eBay administrator decide if you got a bad deal if the seller won’t work with you and leave the seller the worst negative feedback he has every seen.  Good luck and thanks for sharing.

appears to possibly be an EOTECH 502 model, I bought one NIB in 04' for $218 OTD at a local shop,

hell even if it was an used/in good condition bushnell halo or 502, it wouldn't be worth anywhere near $181.

I'd call my CC and dispute charges till you get something worked out.

I have been buying and selling on ebay since 1998.  I have only gotten screwed a handful of times.  EBay has saved me massive amounts of money not having to pay tax on items and just getting killer deals.   - you just have to know all the traps to look for.  If you are a buyer and you use Paypal...you can get your $ back pretty easily, especially if what your buying cost more than $200.00 - if less than that...dispute with the CC card company. PayPal hates that LOL... Also I rarely buy from overseas unless there feedback is spotless.  Selling is where I have gotten screwed a few times.  PayPal’s seller protection SUCKS.

I have bought a few Eotechs and AR parts on eBay with no problem.  But I guess there is a little risk involved.  Always buy from folks with good feedback!!

And just by glancing at the pictures that is obviously not a 553. Sellers (bad ones usually) often copy and paste whatever ad text they can find, even if it is not of the specific model. Sleazy? Yes. Outright fraudulent? Who knows. I don't buy from sellers like this with a less than 99% rating and hundreds of sales. Your EbayFu is weak.

If you paid with a CC, call your CC company and file for a charge-back.

If you paid with PayPal, file a dispute for "Significantly Not As Described". (SNAD) If the buyer doesn't respond within 24 hours or refuses a full refund, escalate to a claim and let PayPal handle it. You'll have to return it at your cost, but all your orginal payment inclusding s&h will be refunded. Make sure you use Delivery Confirmation if shipping USPS as you'll need to prove delivery ion the return.

If at the conclusion you are dissatisfied with the seller's resolution, file a complaint with ebay under the "Seller Non-Perfromance" policy. Oh and neg the shit out of him and leave him all 1's for his DSR's.

Checking his feedback, he's already screwed over one other person in a similar manner. Shitbags like that don't need to be online sellers.

Deals can be found on Ebay but you have to do your homework.  I saw an auction for an ACOG and JP red dot.  The auction only had stock photos from the manufacturer.  I asked clarifying questions and requested photos of the actual ACOG.  I then emailed the photos to Trijicon who confirmed the pictured ACOG was authentic.  Got this setup for $799

Sorry.

In the future research.

Now dispute if on a CC, paypal will take a month if ever.

I hope it works out.

Bummer for you. That ad should have been enough to NOT want to make you bid. No where did it say it was an actual EO or Bushy for that matter. Dosen't even look like an EO, maybe an older Bushy but, nothing like an EO. It referred to the 553 as to NV compatibility but, didn't say it actually was a 553. Looks like he used info from their site. Good luck with PP. I have had to deal with them and they are a PITA.
