This whole weapon light situation has me confused. I'm new to the world of lights on guns and I need some advice. I'm looking for a light to go on my AR in an offset mount. The whole lumens thing has me confused also. I would like as bright as possible because I use this rifle for varmints but I'm not sure what is sufficient. What would y'all suggest for under $200? I would like it to be a tough as possible and fde would be an added plus.
Thanks for yalls input |

It can be overwhelming and there is a lot of misinformation out there. One important thing to know is that lumens are not a measure of "brightness" but of total light output. Beam pattern is all important. That is why we offer two lens options on Elzetta ZFL-M60 Lights. Both the Standard and Flood Lens options project 235 lumens but the beams are very different and tailored to specific applications. Also, pay close attention to runtime claims. Many manufacturers are using the "FL1" standard which defines runtime as the time that it takes for the lights output to reach 10% of its original output. At Elzetta, by contrast, we cite full-output runtime. Big difference. As for a light that is "as tough as possible", that is one thing that Elzetta is most known for. With fully-potted electronics and a 1/2-inch thick acrylic lens, the Elzetta ZFL-M60 is the Toughest Flashlight on the Planet as we have demonstrated repeatedly. Sorry for the commercial |

Quoted: Maybe I missed it, but where on your site does it say anything about batteries and charging? Batteries are CR123A lithium cells. Rechargeable may be used in 2-Cell Models but only primary lithium batteries should be used for critical duty. Quoted: On the elzetta is there a possibility of a red lens? Also with the standard beam about how far would you be able to see with the zlr m60? Do y'all make it in tan? The Low Profile Bezel has an outer diameter of 1.25 inches which accomodates many off the shelf colored filters. The Standard Lens option provides useful illumination well past 100 yards in most conditions. No tan. True Type III hard-anodizing naturally creates a dark charcoal grey color which can only be dyed darker (black). Lighter colored anodizing is less durable. |

We call for coyotes at night and you never know what is going to step out or how far they are going to be. the furthest one I have taken at night was right at 200 yards but that is not common and very far for where I'm usually hunting. 100 yards is average. Elzetta, thank you for all the help. I think I made up my mind on a flash light |

| I'm really happy with my Klarus XT-11 running off of an 18650, saying that it's bright is an understatement. I'm running it in an Elzetta ZFH1500 mount and really like it. Only reason I went with Klarus over Elzetta for the light was due to the brightness. With that said, if the light was being used for HD or something like that an Elzetta would have been my first choice. |

I have 2 Olight M21 Warriors and I LOVE them. They are very very bright, have a nice flood and a great spot all at the same time. They illuminate very very well.
I'll be getting 2 of the VLTOR Off-Set Scout Mounts for them soon. |
