What do you guys use to secure your "pressure pads," either to your panels or VFGs?  Also, where do you get 'em?  Pics would be great, if you've got 'em!

BTW, I have a SureFire 951 weaponlight with a Knight's Armament VFG and Knight's Panels.  They are on a Troy free-float system, if that helps.  The rifle in question is very similar to this:

I'm placing a Pelican light on this guy!  The SureFire shown is going on an SPR and I want to use the pressure switch.

I find the separate pressure pads to be problematic...

I went with the integrated surefire weaponlight to avoid this problem.  I've used separate-pressure-pad lights on guns before, and I've inevitably found that the stick-um doesn't hold, or the velcro wears out, or the cord gets snagged as you're negotiating an obstacle/doorway/stacking-up/whatever, ripping off your pressure pad... or the cord pulls loose/wears out.

I found that cords hanging off my guns in any way, shape, or form were more trouble than they were worth... so as soon as I could afford an integrated solution, I made the switch.

One of my buddies at work used bicycle tubing on the VFG.   Was a bitch to get on but you know that pressure pad ain't going nowhere.

I'm assuming you can get them at any bike shop.   My Sgt. just so happened to have some in his office.

looks like sh!t, but zip ties do the job.

tailcap switches work better for lights just my thought

as far as the way to mount a pressure switch....

method............................PRO..................................................CON

Velro:............cheap works very well........................wears out makes noise

zip ties:    ........  cheap, easy, locks stuff in place well.......       must be cut to take off, ugly

rubber tube:..........provides grip, good, cheap..............a pain to get on & off

tango down pocket:  ............. looks good, better silouette ................  expensive, only fit one size, still needs velcro sometimes

Look into the Surefire SR07 Rail Mount Switch.  I have one and love it.

Call Kevin/Calvin at Brightflashlights  brightflashlights.net/

Not my picture but its a good one.  The one in the picture looks to be a SR03.

I've used black electrical tape, also black (or white when necessary) zip ties, and velcro sticky tape tabs.

I just recently got some "miracle" tape at a Ham Radio expo I went to, the stuff is plastic, not tape, and binds to itself, is stretchy, and waterproof, but doesn't bind to anything except itself.  I'm about to try that on one of my pressure switches to see how it holds in place, since the electrical tape usually wears off eventually and leaves residue behind.

For Surefire tape switches, velcro will do just fine, most of my VFG's have velcro on them to accept a tape switch if I see the need.

For ITI tape switches, you'll need the bicycle inner tube, as well as the velcro.  If the tape switch is staying on permanently, like on my duty rifle, I'll use both.  Both work fine by themselves, but why give up on the extra security?

Get some black vet wrap. It sticks to itself, holds very well, and won't leave any sticky residue. It's spongy, so you can wrap it very tight and it won't set off the switch. When it gets to wearing, just put another piece and go from there. It's about 5.00 for a 10 foot roll.

Tangodown vertical grip has a slot designed for tape switches...
