Folks, I have to remove a fixed stock and install a collapsible stock on a 20"  Colt.  What would be the correct buffer to run with this combo?

Thanks,
Kenny

I believe any standard size carbine buffer (or H1/H2) would work. Apparently rifle buffers also work for this application?

woudlnt the length of the gas tube determine if you should be running a rifle or carbine buffer?

The correct buffer is determined by what stock assembly you decide to use.  Not determined by the gas system length.  Standard carbine buffer with a standard carbine extension tube in this situation would work just fine.

This setup is similar to the Diemaco/Colt Canada C7A2, and i am pretty sure they are running an H2 buffer with a standard SS carbine spring

You will need one of the carbine buffers for it to work right. I would suggest an H2 or H3. Both of these still weigh a little less than a standard rifle buffer.

Thanks folks!  I knew the rifle buffer was too long.  I have plenty of carbine buffers but I need to order an H2 or H3 for my middy, I'll just grab one for this weapon as well.  Still want to try a Spikes ST-T2.
