I would like to change my buffer in favor of something more solid than the standard buffer. I have a colt Hbar and was just wondering what buffer would be best to stabilize more quickly than the cheep plastic one it came with. Thanks |

I really appreciate the time you took to respond. However, my buffer may contain a counter weight under the cheap black plastic housing but it is so poorly designed the molding holes on the bottom are perfect size to get stuck on the retaining dentent when removing it. It doesn’t look like any of the buffers @ http://www.biggerhammer.net/ar15/buffers/ I don’t really think i need to go hydraulic, I just don’t want the loose springiness of the one that came with it. I can email you a pic if you like, I just wish I could host it somewhere so everyone can see it. I love my rifle but this buffer is lousy compared to my friends bushy, Im debating buying a stock Bushy buffer do you feel it would be properly balanced or would there be a better buffer for the 14.95 |

Steve, As with you, I was pretty disappointed to see my new Colt HBAR come with a plastic buffer that has a hole in it that if you aren’t careful will lock up in the buffer retaining pin! I just replaced mine with a surplus mil spec buffer that I had from another project. The gun runs just fine! By the way I know it doesn’t make a difference but I also replaced the Colt plastic stock extension with a aluminum one. |

Quoted: Did you buy your HBar used?? Nope brand new from local FFL. | I also have a newer colt h-bar that came with a plastic buffer, a plastic trap door in the but plate, and plastic mag release button. The only thing i think needs replacment is the buffer ( i used a mill spec part $15.00 and the trap door.I also put an accuwedge in it to tighten up the fit. That said ,i just picked up a RRA carbine and it is nice. No plastic and very tight fit.Fantastic trigger but niether one has a chrome barrel , only the chambers are chromed |
