I was @ the range the yesterday bright & early in the morning, but I wasn't alone. No it wasn't another shooting enthusiast. It was a itty bitty bunny. I confess that I am a city boy transplanted to an agrarian/rural area, so I am not familiar w/varmints. I had my AR-10T and put the scope on him as he hopped in the middle of the range. I pulled the trigger on the .308 and KABOOM! One shot:one kill. The bottom half was gone |

.22LR for bunnies........ You should step up to a nive 223 varmint round. The results are impressive. Impressive is not what I'm looking for if I want to put them in the pot..... Theres this new thing on the market they call a cow. You should look into it. How would the 17hmr do for rabbit hunting? |

I think at this point I might be making sure that hunting rabbits was in season. Rabbits are not considered varmints in most states. If your in PA according to the PA website they are not. Just make sure that your not going to get yourself into trouble.
If they are in season, then a 223 is a nice choice, but they will tear up some meat if your not taking the proper shot. The 22L is a great choice as well as a shotgun with the right shotshell. |
