Hello I just joined the site last week and I think it is really cool. I have a few questions reguarding building an AR. I am constantly changing my mind on what to do either build or buy. Usually I would just go out and buy a new one but the boss said I cant right now because she just let me get a new gun a month ago for christmas. So here finally is my question what is the real cost to put a descent ar kit together was kind of leaning twords a dissapator stlye just for shooting cheap ammo. I kind of like the fact of building it my self or is it better to buy factory??? Thanks again SSG3K |

SSG3K, First, Welcome! Second, I'm getting ready to build one myself and here's what I've come up with: Lower: $103 + $17 for FFL & background check Parts kit from J&T: $519.95 for the 20" flattop That comes to $639.95 plus a little extra for shipping. You could save some more money by buying some stuff on the Equipment Exchange or other websites but it doesn't get much cheaper than this. Plus, it's fun putting your own rifle together!
