I am having a lot of problems with my new AR.  One of them is failure to feed.  One of the reasons might be the wrong magazine for 7.62x39.  It is shipping as we speak.  However, I was told that the 5.56 magazine would work for 3 rounds and for the most part it does.  I however did have some FTF.  What are the symptoms with a badly staked gas key?  All my shells ejected fine.

The gas key is at the front end of the bolt carrier.  Looks like a little snorkle and has two bolts holding it onto the carrier.  The gas tube tip fits into the gas key when the bolt is closed.

There is a measurement for the stakes Not to exceed (maximum height or width, can't remember).
Is your gas key loose?  That is generally the only malfunction cause.

How exactly, or what exactly, is "staking" the gas key. I've taken the gas key off before, and replaced it, doing nothing more than just tightening down the bolts, and it still works fine.

Should my gun be malfunctioning?
