Hey,

I have a cheap red-dot sight that works OK indoors or in low-light conditions, but I cannot see the dot in bright daylight.  What types/brands of red-dot or reflex sights are good enough to be seen in daylight and what will it cost for that priviledge?

Yes, it's for use on an AR-15.

Thanks

Aimpoint or EOTech are pretty good.

I've got both.

Eotechs are great, but for about half their cost you can get the quite serviceable Bushnell Trophy MP. I have both and I like both. There is a reason the Eotech costs much more - it is a quantum leap in functionality - but the Bushnell is really a damn good red dot.

EOTech and Aimpoint are good- Trijicon Reflex II is better IMHO. I own all 3 and the Trijicon is on my GO2GUN.

Please tell me you're kidding.

The aiming triangle is yellow, and washes out easily at night in areas lit by amber sodium lights, and will disappear entirely if you use a weapon-mounted light.  It also washes out if you/the rifle/the optic are in the shade and your target is in the sun.

No one recommends this sight for real-world applications.  When it first came out, it was an official military-issue optic, but they've long-since been replaced with vastly superior technology (AimPoint, EOTech, ACOG, etc.).
