| I have a Noveske 18" SPR and am torn on what scope to put on it. I have a Nightforce 5.5-22x50, and a Burris Black Diamond 6-24x50 that I can throw on it. These seam rather big for this gun. I like to be able to see way out, but are these scopes over kill? If you were in my shoes would you run one of these scopes? At least until I can afford a smaller scope. The ones I am looking at are the Nightforce 3.5-15x50 (which isn't much shorter than the 5.5-22) and the Leupold 3.5-10x40 LR/T M1 TMR. Please offer advice, for some reason, I rarely get responses to my threads. |

I have a Leopold 4-16x40 on my Armalite SPR.. I am going to start building another one this January and didnt want to spend as much cash on it. I will be leaving it at my cabin for 10 months out of the year in hybernation.
I really like the new Mark AR series Leopold has out and for $500 for the new 4-16x40 thats what i will buy. They are advertising as shock and water "Proof" not resistant. I have heard good things about Night force but all my hunting rifles have Leopolds as in my 20's I learned a lot of hard lessons about optics and mounts in TX, FL, MN and Tennessee hunting in the heat and cold. My Leopolds have never let me down. |

On a 18” SPR style setup I feel a scope that has 20x plus magnification is to much. I would recommend a 16x and under. I see the 4.-14x40mm was recommended and that would be a good scope to go with. I have also used the 2.5-8x36mm w/ the M2 turret and have really like that. IOR 2-12x32mm are also very nice I’m running one of them on a DPMS LR308 I have.
If you are look for a good scope for a good price the Leupold would be a good way to go. Even their Leupold Mark AR line is very nice for the price. We stock a lot of scopes so if we can be of help feel free to ask.
