This is a brand new bcm gunfighter charging handle. I never fired the thing yet but I cycled the action a couple of times. I popped it out and it looked like this...It's starting to get all scratched up, and on the other side where you cant see. I think it may due to bcg that i just got..I just bought a LMT bcg..last week it came to me with the gas key messed up..It looked like it was dropped or something. I sent it back to get the gas key replaced and now there is a small crack where it was staked( the other one did not has this).. Im not really too worried about that.. But does anybody think that this would be causing this???

Looks like a non-issue to me. Could be a small burr on the BCG that's causing it.

Im sure it will shoot fine, all I need is a hand guard and Im done. I just noticed this..I didn't really think that it was a problem, then I got to thinking that if it only took a couple of cycles of the bolt and charging handle to do this..what will it look like in 5k rounds???

FYI the cracks on the LMT gas key is normal due to the hardness of the key.

As for the charge handle...wear like that is also normal...

Are you charging it with one finger on the left side?
Its probably caused by the charging handle being twisted when it is pulled and wearing on one side more than the other.

Take the BCG and CH out of your upper and hold them together as they would be in the upper.
The BCG is not causing the marks you are seeing.

im no expert but couldnt that be caused from pulling the handle back just using on finger, which is why those are designed to do but im just saying the wear being on the side where the latch is seems like pulling it back with just the latch would cause that

Normal. Remember that you aren't going to be charging the rifle every round you fire (unless you decided to get a bolt action AR15...) Also, the finish wearing on the charging handle is completely normal. Put a little lube on it to smooth it out.

I had one BCM charging handle that was a tight fit.  After a little wear it slides back and forth fine now.
