I ordered a RRA 9mm upper from Brownells in November.  They say they haven't got anything from RRA since Sept. (I don't know if that means 9mm uppers only or if it means anything and everything)  Brownells say they have 74 uppers on backorder.  They have no idea when the order might get filled.  WTF!!!!! I am patient and I can wait but gall damn give me a date to shoot for!!!

thanks, had to vent.

I don't think Brownells is a big worry for RRA.

I believe ADCO is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, RRA dealer.  You may want to contact them and see what their backorder situation is like (if you want an upper this year that is).

Or, you could try Spike's.  I ordered and received a bunch of 9mm parts in less than a week and the have some parts coming tomorrow or Monday from Midway and Brownells to complete a 9mm upper.  If you can't get everything you want from Spikes, get what you can and do some searching for the other parts you need to put an upper together yourself.  I know how much it sucks to wait, which is why I bought a $20 wrench and a $20 upper block and started putting together my own uppers years ago.

I have everything for the lower.  now if i were to change course I'm sure the price would be alot more than the price I have locked in with Brownells.  They maybe not a big worry for RRA but are by far a very reputable parts outlet and I am sure they service them well.  If they are smart they should.

Brownells doesn't discount RRA, so the best price you can get is their regular price plus the 10% SHOT discount which wasn't around in Nov and is over now.  ~$500 regular price or ~$450 with the 10% for either A4 or A2.

ADCO is $480 for the A4 and $500 for the A2.

I don't remember off the top of my head what Pete's prices were, but I believe they were in the same ballpark.

While Brownells is great, they are a very small time RRA dealer.  They only offer a limited amount of RRA parts - I think maybe a dozen and all but 2 of them are 9mm parts.  My belief is that Brownells will probably do away with RRA in the near future if they continue to have 6+ month backorder waits.  That's not really here nor there though.  Brownells will do what they have to do.  I only hope they don't do away with RRA and source a higher priced replacement part like they did when they got rid of Ciener .22 kits and went with the way more expensive CMMG .22 kits.

Like I said before, there are plenty of other options out there.  Your choice if you want to look into them or not.

+1 on ADCO or Pete from legal transfers. You'll get a better price, and have the product faster.
