Hey all,

I built a 16" carbine this past year using an RRA upper that did not have a threaded barrel.  However, after the AWB expires, I would like to add a flash hider.  Do any of you have any suggestions on where to go to get a muzzle threaded?  I assume that, as long as someone properly threads the muzzle, I should be able to get any standard flash hider (A2, Vortex, etc.) and a crush or peel washer (if necessary) and install myself, correct?  However, I would like recommendations on where to get this done from a quality 'smith without having to break the bank.

Thanks!

This is pretty simple lathework, but it requires a machineshop's time.  I would guess a one hour job, maybe 40-50 bucks unless you have a friend with a lathe.

I would do it for a 12 pack myself.

M&R Arms, Mt Clemons, Michigan - about 20 minutes north of Detroit, Michigan.  Had my barrel cut down and vortex installed for 16.1" total and rifle finished in OD by them with all + results.  Decent pricing and 4 week turn around.  Also had my Kimber UC II and Colt Pony OD'd.  Winchester 1300 to be done soon....

Lauer Custom Weaponry Freedom Package includes a collapseable stock, threaded muzzle, flash hider and bayo lug for $190, pretty good considering the price of the stock...

I think other companies are going to be offering this also.

-- Edit Link & price fixed.  edited again because it is a bayo lug added, not a magazine.
