Where's a tutorial on recutting feed ramps to the M4 specs? I have some carbines with older Colt lightweight barrels (regular ramps in extension) that have been put on new Daniel Defense flattop uppers (that have the M4 ramp cuts) that I need to have cut. I have heard you can do it with a dremel and the proper carbide acessories, and patience. I also have a mini-mill I could use if I knew what I needed and proper procedure.
Thanks in advance! |

Thanks. If it was mine I would probably do that, but I have about ten to do and if I don't do it right it may cost an officer his life. I am looking for detailed instruction.
I can use a dremel if I can't figure out how to use my mini mill to do it, but I imagine I would pull the barrel, remove a bit from the extension ramps and then install the barrel to see how close I am to a continued plane and then repeat until I get it perfect. How do the big name gunsmiths do it? Do they put new M4 extensions on the barrels or do they cut what's there? Any specifics are appreciated. |

I just had to touch mine up to get them all smoothed out. Hopefully someone will come along with more info. |

Even ADCO uses the dremel! I will however remove the barrel instead of grinding with the barrel in the upper. I don't want to remove anodizing or bugger up the upper (would that be a buggered-upper?). I'll do a little at a time until I get the hang of it. Thanks guys. |
