[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Which Buffer?

Pickup up a 16" carbine upper with a micro gas block. Can anyone recommend which buffer I should use or start with?

What is the cailber and gas lenght system? You have a rather vague question. I would say it better to shoot the rifle with that upper before making any changes.

Standard unless you have cycling issues. BCM had some in stock last week - regular prices.

Sorry, 5.56. Carbine length. I did actually pick up one of BCM's standard buffers the other day.

Shoot first to see if you want to make any changes. Standard buffer will do the job. If you want the extra buffer weight. A "H" buffer type will work to,

5.56 carbines, you're almost guaranteed that a H will run better than a standard buffer. And likely even a H2.

I had to use an H2 and a auto carrier to slow down my last carbine build. It was way over gassed, like me.

My suggestion would be if you already have the standard, then buy a H3. You can then try the lightest, the heaviest, and if you need to by removing a roll pin, you can modify your other two to make a H and H2 by taking one tungsten weight out of the H3 and swapping for one steel weight in the standard.
