I'm thinking about swapping the telescopic stock on one of my 16" rifles for an A2 stock. Any opinions on the best buffer to use for this combo?

Thanks to all.

There is no "best" buffer.  They are all pretty much the same regardless of the supplier.  Remember......you must use the full length buffer and correct spring when you remove the tele stock and convert to the A2 length. If you put the short, carbine buffer in a long buffer tube the back of the gas key will do major damage to your lower receiver during firing.

Thanks, Russ.

I was just wondering if the the sharper recoil impulse caused by the 16" gas port being closer to the chamber required anything special over and above the buffer/recoil spring setup for the stanadrd 20" rifle.

No it won't, and using the rifle tube, buffer, and spring will be more reliable.  The problems arise when trying to shorten the buffer system, hence the different buffers available (for telestocks).
