I just sold my "starter" AR to fund the purchase of this CMMG, however I'd appreciate advice about which way to go.

1. Bargain Bin 16" mid-length $625.  I assume the barrel will be CMMG and gov't profile. Lower won't be mil-spec.  No warranties, but all the reviews here say they're like new.

2. CMMG 16" LW mid-length upper $525 on a Stag (mil-spec) lower with CTR $285=$810

Thanks!

Seems like if youre moving up from your starter AR. might as well get what you want, and you'll probably be happier that way.

Thanks for that.  Believe it or not, my wife said the same thing  However, there's an indefinite limit to discretionary spending, even when it comes to a pro-gun spouse.

What I'm particularly thinking about is: an extra $200 can be translated into a long step towards an Aimpoint or some serious upgrades like a FSC 556, a forged CH with PRI latch, a back-up BCG, etc.  And then there's ammo prices.

All suggestions are appreciated!
