I am now in the market for a new AR-15. This will also be my first AR-15 but I am fairly familiar with the AR platform. I am looking into getting a colt but I am not set on getting one and am open to other opinions. I am having a problem however deciding what one I want. It seems like every time I look at one there are so many variations and different models to choose from. I am looking to get one for, Short to long range plinking Maybe taking an AR course I want a detachable carry handle so I can learn to use the irons but eventually I want to mount a site on the gun I also live in NY so I am not sure if that limits my options or not. I am having a hard time deciding what barrel length I want (16 or 20) and also what barrel profile I want. Also what I would be able to own in NY. I am looking into getting a pre ban but would this be worth the extra money to get one or should I just get a post ban one. If you have any ideas or suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. |
