I'm considering an addition of a quick release mount for my AA powered EO Tech.  I know many here like the Larue Mount. I just saw the GG&G mount and it looks good -- http://www.gggaz.com/products/accucam.php  . .. Anyone have any pros/cons about these two choices??  Thanks.

I do not own the GG&G so I am a poor choice to compare the two. I will give you my two cents and you can do what you want with it!

The GG&G is cheaper than the LT EOTech mount. The LT EOTech mount raises the EOTech so that the irons are in the lower 1/3. The elevation also allows you to clear HG's (such as M4 style) enabling you to put the EOTech over the Delta ring.  The GG&G mount doesn't raise the EOTech so the iron are more in the middle of the optic. The LT EOTech mount gives you a mounting platform for either a NV device or a Magnifier. The GG&G mount does not give you that option....

Grant is right about the GGG vs the LaRue, the LaRue gives you more options later down the road when EOTech gets its own 3X adapter out.  It's also faster to remove and replace. The GGG is a solid peace of gear which works great for locking down the sight but does nothing for raising the optic. The more FOV you have the better to see bad guys

If you do decide to go with the LaRue make sure to read and reread the instructions for installation. Be very careful and do not over tighten the front detent ball!!!!!! If you do, you will have a nice round ding on your upper receiver just like I have on my mint or was mint Colt M4A3 receiver Thx LaRue

Hope I helped.

I don't know why, but I seem to like 'absolute' co-witnessing a lot.  I have my EOTech mounted directly to the flat top and it lines the sights up perfectly with the reticle.  I can always flip down the sight, and my aiming stance/positioning/cheak weld doesn't change at all.  I always look down the same field field of view... it doesn't change whether I'm using the EOTech or the BUIS.

The only 2 disadvantages I feel are:
1)  No quick release of the EOTech.  This isn't such a big deal to me though because I bought one of those extended thumb screws to replace the one that came with the EOTech and I can unscrew it fairly easily and quickly.  I've yet to take off the EOTech since it's been mounted.

2)  Cant mount the EOTech over the handguards of an M4.  This bugs me only a little bit because I wish there was about 1/2 inch more space between my BUIS and the controls of the EOTech.  It takes me a little extra maneuvering for me to turn off the EOTech b/c you have to press both buttons at the same time to shut it off.  I've got pretty big hands and since the space is so limited, it's a little trickier.  That's really the only drawback to me.  I like having the EOTech mounted towards the rear... just wish there was a little more space.

Does anyone know if any other companies (YHM, Knight's, ARMS, etc) are considering making an EOTech mount? Just curious, but I think it would be nice if there were more options out there than just LaRue and GG&G. Thanks.

You must have either a AA EOTech then, huh? Reason I say that is because I have a 551 (N battery) and it gives me perfect space between the BUIS and the controls, and I also have M4 handguards. That's the positive part of having an N battery EOTech, they are shorter.

True, but it's more than just a mount- it's a BUIS also. I'm also thinking more along the lines of a QD throw lever mount. So, no one else is going to make a QD EOTech mount?

Yeah, I know... I thought of that when I bought it too.  I chose the 552 because of the longer battery life and the fact that AAs are readily available just about anywhere.  The 551 would have been fine, but I figure at some point I'm going to swap out the handguard for a rail system anyway.

Well only ARMS, LT and now GG&G offer a QD lever so I think you are only going to see mounts from these three....

Yea that all makes sense. My primary concern was size and initial price. I really like the battery like and price of AA's though.

Any word from ARMS about an EOTech mount prototype from an industry insider?

The have an EOTech mount out (#54). You cannot co-witness with it. I do know if they are making another mount for the EOTech.

Oh yeah I remember that one, it raises it completely above the FSB. That thing is nasty. Well I guess everybody does make an EOTech mount, only problem is that they are all completely different. The only useful ones look to be LaRue or GG&G. Thanks for your help!
