Is there a big difference in the 556, 553Band 552? This is going on my first AR

Anythingts or advice?

Some of its preference

I have the 556 because i like the buttons on the side
Run a flash light that runs on the same batteries
And may get night vision down the road

For an SHTF set up i think a AA battery model would be nice for the fact AA batteries are everywhere

I have 2 512's that I love, but if I was to buy a new one I'd go with an EXPS. I sold one of my 512's(had 3) to pay for a EXPS2.0. Quick detach, side buttons, & lower 1/3 co witness.

I went with the EXPS2. Side controls, QD mount, smaller footprint on the receiver rail. I like it a lot better than the 512 I sold (not that the 512 was bad).

Just ordered an EXPS2-0 the other day. Ran a borrowed 512 before an there is barely any space between my Larue BUIS and the buttons on the back of the 512. EXPS will give plenty of access to buttons, lower 1/3 cowitness, and takes the same batt that I carry in my stock for my light. Lighter and smaller too.
