I know that my MP15 uses a carbine buffer but what length gas system is used? Mid length or Carbine?

And is there any reason I should upgrade the buffer to H? I normally have it on a good diet of NATO 5.56

Mine is a carbine system, which I believe all of them are, and it has been 100% reliable with the standard carbine buffer. I see no reason to change it out in an already reliable semi-auto gun.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

It's always been my experience that in general (with anything not just guns) fixing something that isn't broke is a great way to make sure you get to fix it later because it is...

I'd buy an H-buffer and try it. Odds are your carbine would operate better with the H-buffer, especially less carrier bounce. It's good to have a spare buffer anyway.

You should notice a different angle of ejected brass and may like it better.

I run a H buffer with an LMT Enhanced BCG and get a normal 3 o clock ejection on my MP&15.
