My goals are:
-RELIABILITY -Clean and crisp break -Around 4lb pull...a little more is ok. -I don't really have a preference as to double or single stage -How does it compare to a Timney 4lb trigger? -I want tighter groups and this is a good way to get there. Plus the heavy stock trigger is not as much fun.
Uses: -Range -Duty/patrol |

To me, it was certainly between the SSA and SSAE but what are the differences? I am watching misc. youtube videos now.
I figured the match type triggers would likely be too light for me. ETA: also unsure as to why there are second versions of each trigger with a larger pin...what is the benefit/need? |

ETA: also unsure as to why there are second versions of each trigger with a larger pin...what is the benefit/need? Older Colt lowers used larger pins than standard to prevent people from putting full auto/burst fire control groups in them. Very interesting. So it seems with my new DDM4V5 I would not need the larger pins, correct? |

SD3G why would anyone use anything else ???? Curveball! I really like the flat trigger in the Super Dynamic series.....Only problem is that I think it is a little too light and I actually have not shot a flat trigger yet.
They are all very tempting....And not really in stock (directly, I found other dealers in stock)...But I don't mind waiting I just want to buy the best (for my needs). |

Duty/patrol:
SSA. Around 4.5#, reliable, much better than stock trigger. I have as couple SSAs and think they are great. The SSA-E may be a tad light for a duty carbine. SD3G is a different animal entirely, being designed for fast 3 gun shooting. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

You mention tighter groups, but don't entirely explain what you plan to do with your weapon. If you're even slightly concerned about going in harms way with it, then go with the SSA. It has a total of 4lbs, 2 in each stage.
It is easy to control, breaks like a crisp carrot, after the initial takeup, you have a release with enough resistance to be good under stress. If you are more 'shooting for groups' than 'tactical', then perhaps something lighter is a good idea; the SSA-E? Your original post says 'duty/patrol'; that being the case, then use the SSA. If I'm scared enough of something to want to point a gun at it, too light ain't a good idea. Moon |
| I run S3G's in a bunch of guns but also the Ssa-e and a KAC two stage..........in close the super 3gun can't be beat for crisp and fast manipulation, past say 100 yards I think it's less accurate than a 2 stage due to the lack of takeout. It all depends on what you want to do. |
