I'm putting together my first AR. Up to this point I've only purchased complete rifles. I will be buiilding a carbine and it will be for the rifle portion of a 3 gun. I would also like to be able to shoot either side. The grip that I was looking at is the Sierra Precision, but it looks to be more of strong side only grip. I was wondering if you guys could give me any recommendations. My only other option at this point is the tango down grip. Anybody like any others and why?

Thanks,

I like the Tango Down...I had a Pachmyer but it was too large for my hand and it's real heavy also.

I've never used the Tango Down so I can't comment on it, other than to say it looks well made.  I like the Ergo-Grips by Falcon Industries.  I use the hard ones because I don't like the feel of the rubberized ones.  I also choose the ambidextrious ones since they're better for weak hand use obviously.  Since this grip fills in some space behind the lower, it allows me a better purchase on the grip and a better trigger pull.  For me it's the grip to buy, and the $20 price isn't bad either.  But no one can really tell you what's best for you, try the different ones out there and decide based on YOUR preference.

I like the TD because I can story batteries and such in it..

Give the First Samco G27 a try.  It's a nice ambidextrous grip with finger grooves and it fits the hand pretty well (it fits my hand at least).

I like the G27 and the SPR grip.  If the G27 came with a rubbery texture like the Hogue I think it would be perfect.  The TD is a great grip, I personally don't like the angle and it's too small for my hands.  Of course, I have pretty big hands.  Try to handle a few of the ones mentioned if you can, there are lots of good grips out there, just use what fits you best.
