I recently had a bad trip to the range. Both my 9mm and 223's needed adjustments and I left the tool box at home. The mag well conversion fell a little in the 9mm. The key on the 223 carrier worked loose, for the second time. It was originally staked, but that didn't help. I thought I'd loc-tite these in. I usually use the blue. Any reason to upgrade to a stronger loc-tite? Thanks, Fq1234 |

I'm no expert about the 9mm conversion block, but if you regularly install and remove this block, use the blue loc-tite. Only use the red if you've dedicated that lower to the 9mm. With the red loc-tite you should be able to remove it later, but you will have to get heat to the screw. I recommend the use of a soldering iron to concentrate the heat. I've heard of carrier keys coming loose, but I've never heard of someone repairing one with loc-tite. It may actually work. Your best bet would be to completely degrease the threads on the bolts and the holes. Then use the red. |
Sounds good...Thank you |
Use red locktite on the carrier key screws and re-stake them. |
