| Got to have one. I panic bought 2 LWRC's in the Colt buyout panic mode, but now think I'd like to replace one with a PWS in either a 16 or 14 MK1. I'd assume accuracy to be about the same out to 300, or does the 16 have an edge? I have nothing against the LWRC and didn't even get to shoot it as I've been recovering from a March17 shoulder injury. I like variety of design even though I like the SPR's looks better, but I'd like a 1/8 to try against all the 1/7's I have. |

Only downside I see to the MK114 is that it has a pin/welded flash hider. If you can get the one of your choice on it, then it does help make it a more compact package and not at much of a loss of FPS for the 5.56.
Have been a few posts on accuracy and barrel length, I'd have to hunt for them, but it actually shows that the shorter barrels are just as accurate, if not more so, than the longer barrels. You simply lose FPS, which will result in you needing to compensate height adjustment and being limited a little bit more in effective range. I own a MK112 myself, on an AR pistol, and I love it. I am looking at getting a 5.56 LWRC rifle now though, as I have a Six8 and I really do enjoy their piston design and controls. That and maybe get an IC lower to register as an SBR and then mate the MK112 to it |
| I own the mk114 and love it. Are all your other rifles 16 inch as well as 1/7 ? I went with the 14.5 because I swear this 14.5 vs 16 thing was smashed years ago and proven it doesnt matter enough. And I also wanted the pws muzzle break as well. Early congrats, you will love whichever one you purchase and will probably want another |
| Just picked up my PWS MK16 last week. I took it out yesterday and fired 16 rounds just to get the feel of it. No intentions of firing for accuracy. This is my first piston AR and while it could be my imagination, I swear it seemed to shoot softer. Not as much muzzle flip, could stay on target a little better, it just felt a little more smooth than my three direct impingement AR's. I hope to get it sighted in soon and test for accuracy with a few different factory loads. Right now, I think I made a good decision to purchase it. I had considered LWRC and may buy one down the road. At this point (very early on ) in the process I am happy with PWS. |

That muzzle looks a lot like the one on my Scar 16 and it certainly stays on target. The Scars accuracy really surprises me. There seems to be a nice selection on GB so we'll see what I end up with. |

Just went sunday and shot my pws and my friends brand new bcm 14.5 midlength DI. My pws is a lot softer and has less muzzle rise. He even said after some run n gun he was having trouble getting his follow ups on target compared to when he shot my mk114. I told him there were a list of reasons. One of the reasons is muzzle break or comp. The fcs556 that came on my pws is a great muzzle device. The bcm he purchased just has a standard birdcage. Also can be the buffer and spring... also the gas system helps a lot in my opinion with the bcg and piston op rod all attached and loving as one. I want a bcm but damn it put a smile on my face when I realized how much smoother my rifle is. Plus I have a sprinco blue and h2 pws buffer ready to put in. We will see if it gets even better. |

A weapon light is a must. The DBAL-I2 is nice due to the green laser which is visible in sunlight at long distances. Once I added a suppressor I now can't imagine shooting without it. The PWS was designed from the start to run suppressed (not many designs have 2 suppressor settings). The only thing I might change would be the EOTech. Might go with the Aimpoint Micro T-1. |

I love that EOTech design and have been thinking of picking one up myself. Don't really have a rifle to accept it yet, as both of mine use ACOGs. May be getting a 16'' LWRC IC though and migrate the TA31 from the PWS to it and pick up the EOTech for the PWS. All hypothetical though, for now. ETA: Completely agreed on the suppressor. Once you go suppressed, there really is no going back

Ive done a bad thing. Was at my LGS today and they had a new PWS MK1. I've never seen one of these in person and when I touched it I knew it was to be mine. What have I done? Tell me all I need to know about PWS since I know almost nothing. Love the balance and over all feel and lightweight rail. Learn me hive.

Ha, that was you? Nice to see a local member. I do have a question for you. I took the rifle apart last night and it took me a second to understand how to reassemble the piston/op rod/BCG. I ended up detaching the piston from the op rod and dropping it into the upper then I inserted the op rod/BCG and reconnected the piston to the op rod. There might be a better way but it was late when I got home and that's what I came up with. Please advise the proper way to re assemble. PWS doesn't provide much in the way of a manual so I was winging it.

No you did a great thing, which is why I congratulated you when I saw you holding it. I got them signed up as a PWS dealer a few months back. PM me if you want more info. |

Gotta say after putting close to 7000 rounds through my Mk116 Mod 1, I've never had a single malfunction, shooting all sorts of ammo including the crap from Russia. The one beef I have with the stock PWS is the crappy Magpul MOE stock it comes with, part of the reason they keep costs down. Over the last few months I've changed out the Magpul furniture. I replaced the the MOE stock with an STR, the MOE grip with a ATI Scorpion grip (wanted all black but sent me the wrong ones), removed the Magpul BUIS and used Troy tritium dioptics, added a Magpul foregrip and an Aimpoint Pro. Love this stick. http://i953.photobucket.com/albums/ae12/shark101au/2014-01/4BA20467-E32C-4DC3-ACD0-9BE77021764E_zpsirmgubzp.jpg I really like my MK116 as well. I wonder though if changing out the MOE stock for a CTR would eliminate the rattle? |
