I want to put a magnified scope on my S&W M&P15a (front post sight and rear Troy folding sight). I would appreciate any recommendations on a mount to raise the scope above the front sight. Thanks in advance for any help! |
you will have an impossible time getting a proper cheek weld with such a setup. your accuracy will suffer as a result. read this: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=134&t=141691 get a std 1/3 co-witness mount for your scope, and ignore the slight blur at the bottom. the next step will be to get a low profile gas block and a rail. if you have a permanently attached brake or flash hider, you can always cut the top off of the FSB, which was a popular approach before all of the low profile gas blocks came about. carefully dremel it down, and use one of the 'smith's surface treatments to clean up the shiny parts. ar-jedi   |
